How To Root Samsung Galaxy S2 Android 2.3.4 XXKG1 Firmware

Recently Samsung galaxy s2 got latest android 2.3.4 update, this update make it more better than before. but official firmware always sucks ,to use galaxy s2 at its best we are going to root it. In this tutorial we will learn how to root our Samsung galaxy s2 running android 2.3.4 XXKG1 firmware.



Warning:

1.This guide of rooting is only for Samsung Galaxy S Running Android 2.3.4 XXKG1 Firmware. don’t flash until you have XXKG1 2.3.4 firmware, you can check your firmware going settings>about phone>firmware version

2.Backup all data stored in phone memory like- call log,message,music,camera album. also Note down OR backup APN settings and MMS configuration

3.Warranty will get void after rooting , if you want to get warranty back you have to unroot it

4.install latest version of samsung kies to install latest drivers

5.Minimum 50% battery power is required ,80% is better

Download Samsung Galaxy S2 XXKG1 Rooting Package ,This pack contains two files
1.ODIN
2.CF ROOT files

Instructions to root Samsung galaxy s2 running android 2.3.4 XXKG1

1.Unzip downloaded file ‘Samsung Galaxy S2 XXKG1 Rooting Package.zip’
2.after extracting you will see two files ‘Odin3 v1.85.exe’ and ‘CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEU_KE2-v3.7-CWM3.tar’
3.Run ‘Odin3 v1.85.exe’
4.Switch off your samsung galaxy s2
5.Now in switch off mode ,press and hold Volume down & middle key (home key). while holding both keys press power on button of your phone. this way your phone will boot in download mode


6.if you entered successfully in download mode then you will see screen like shown below , now connect your phone to pc with the help of USB cable .


7.You will see ID:COM box in ODIN will turn yellow and in message box you will ADDED appears . these signs indicates that all drivers loaded successfully and your phone is ready for rooting process



8.Next step is – click on ‘PDA’ tab and select ‘CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEU_KE2-v3.7-CWM3.tar’ . double check that you have selected correct file otherwise you will have a nice brick
9.hit the start button and wait for several mins to complete the process,

Note: During flashing process don’t disconnect or stop process otherwise it will damage your phone

That’s it you have successfully rooted your phone and installed recovery. with the help of the recovery tool you can easily flash the kernels, flash the update.zip files, delete the backups, back up the ROMs, restore the backed ROMs etc.

To enter in recovery mode
1.Switch off your samsung galaxy s2
2.Now in switch off mode ,press and hold Volume down & middle key (home key). while holding both keys press power on button of your phone. this will boot your phone in recovery mode
